What is a seed
Prompting1 min read
A seed is the number that randomness starts from. Think of it as a variant number: the same seed with the same prompt and settings gives the same result.
Try it on: Seedance V1 Pro · Ideogram V3 · Ideogram V3 Remix

- A number field. Empty means a new result each run; enter a number and the result repeats.
Why it matters
- Reproduce a good result. Like an image? Save its seed and you can get it again.
- Iterate precisely. Fix the seed and change only the prompt — you'll see exactly how your edit affects the result, no lottery.
- Fair comparisons. Same seed = same randomness, so comparing models and settings becomes meaningful.
How to use it
Leave the field empty for a fresh variant every run. Found a great frame? Copy its seed from the generation history and paste it into the field.
