What is a prompt and how to write one
Getting started1 min read
A prompt is a text description of what you want to get. The model doesn't read minds — it draws exactly what you describe.
Try it on: Nano Banana 2 · Nano Banana 2 Lite · Nano Banana
The formula
Subject + action + setting + style + light.
Bad: beautiful girl
Good: portrait of a girl in a red coat, autumn park, soft sunset light, film photography, bokeh

1 — the prompt field: this is where you type. Enter sends, Shift+Enter adds a line.
6 — the run button: the price in credits is visible before you press it.
Tips
- Be specific: "golden retriever" beats "dog".
- Name the style: photorealism, anime, watercolor, 3D render.
- Add light and mood: "soft morning light", "neon glow", "dramatic shadows".
- Don't overload: 1–2 main subjects per frame. Need more? Run several generations.
Common mistakes
- Too short. "Cat" gives a random cat in a random style.
- Contradictions. "Night, bright sunshine" confuses the model.
- Too many subjects. Every extra object lowers the quality of each one.
