Claude: a smart assistant by Anthropic
Text models2 min read
A text model: it writes and edits, breaks down problems, explains, calculates, writes code. It answers in a chat — like messaging a very well-read person.
Open in Studio: Sonnet 5 · Fable 5 · Haiku 4.5 · Opus 5 · Opus 4.8 · Opus 4.7

- Question field. 2. Attach an image — the model will look at it and answer. 3. Model version. 4. Send.

- The model-name button in the composer.
- Every version with its per-answer price; the tick marks the current one.
Versions and prices
The price is per answer, not per length. A short question and a long analysis cost the same.
| Version | Price | When to use |
|---|---|---|
| Haiku 4.5 | 1 cr. | Quick short questions |
| Sonnet 5 | 3 cr. | Most tasks: intelligence and speed balanced |
| Opus 5 | 10 cr. | Hard things: strategy, long code, subtle analysis |
| Fable 5 | 12 cr. | The new flagship, a tier above Opus |
Previous generations (Opus 4.5–4.8, Sonnet 4.5–4.6) are cheaper and stay in the list if you are used to a specific version.
When to pick Claude
- Writing: articles, emails, posts — Claude writes vividly and holds a style.
- Analysis and explanation: "explain it simply", "find the weak spots in this plan".
- Code: writing, fixing and explaining it.
How to use it
- The model remembers this whole chat — you can refine and argue without repeating yourself.
- New topic, new chat. Answers stay sharper that way.
- The version can be switched right inside the chat with the model-name button: start on Haiku, hit a wall, switch to Opus.
